‘A tribute’

“… and who doesn’t blog?” says the ‘blogful’ to the ‘blogless.’

Do you blog?

“To blog or not to blog.. that’s not a question. That is a pressure, but the necessary one. I don’t need to wait longer to realize: it’s a crazy blog world out here! I used to insist to resist from blogging myself (used to have one few years ago), even though I’ve become ever since among those who profit (albeit non-financially) from blogs. I researched on blogs, attended blogs conferences, read blogs, comment on blogs, and gave my students assignments on blogs. I thought I wanted to resist a few longer, but I just could not. So here I am, to say.. yes, I do blog. Well, a tribute I’d say.”

I’m not exactly a neophobe and tend to resist new trends as long as possible. I held out against buying a cellphone for YEARS. Didn’t get online until 1998 – when some kind soul donated a still-working 486 PC. But once I discovered the delights of email and surfing, I was thoroughly hooked – the more so when I had to create a website using Netscape Composer (still the best WYSIWYG web software, now incarnate as SeaMonkey). Quite by chance I created my first on December 1st, 2006… and since then I’ve become more or less full-time! It’s an undoubtedly a fearsome addiction but – in countries like Malaysia – blogging has evolved into a potent political force. What drives me now is the growing circle of strangers-turned-friends who stumble across my blog… and then decide to add me on Facebook. A few eventually visit me in 3D, thereby validating the entire process by grounding the interconnectivity in physical reality. In any case, I appreciate your tribute to bloggers :-)
